Scratch that... I will code for food at this point!

My Supervisor
Office Manager, Graphic Artist, Webmaster, Etc. Etc.

After relocating back to Florida, and floundering around for a few months, I was lucky enough to land
job for a local Security & Forensic Software Distributor. My official title was "Office Manager" however,
over the course of my 4 years of employment, I was also tasked with print/website design & development,
product development, search engine optimization, internet marketing, as well as software technical support.
I was also responsible for proposal generation, monthly technical support invoicing, product fulfillment, shopping cart setup/maintenance, monthly maillings, etc.
Basically, I'm a computer super-freak. Thank you very much!

Shipping/Receiving
Forbes Products
10 Forbes St.
Dansville, NY 14437
|
Worked as a shipping clerk, and receiving assistant.
Forbes Products is a leading manufacturer of vinyl products.
I was responsible for shipping products via UPS (UPS Online
Worldship), Fed-Ex, and truck shipments (LTL & full loads), as
well as receiving incoming material shipments and warehouse
duties. Forklift operation, and material handling for all
manufacturing departments.
A far cry from website design work, but a great way to keep
in shape, and earn money in the process.
I left Forbes Products to relocate back to Florida and hopefully
get back into graphic arts/website design.

Self Employed Freelance Website Design
|
I was laid off (like a gazillion others) from my job at Net Connect in March of 2001.
Since that time, I have continued to do freelance website work for the former owner of
Net Connect, as well as new & former Net Connect clients.
| October 1995 - March 2001
|
Webmaster/Graphic Artist
Net Connect
11350 66th St. N.
Largo, FL 33773
|
I was hired in October, 1995 to act as the onsite
Webmaster & graphic artist for this start-up Internet Service Provider in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.
Since that time I have designed numerous (actually, a LOT) websites
for a wide range of clients. (see listing below) I have experience with
e-Commerce & Shopping Cart
applications & secure credit card transaction setup using several different software packages and
backend transaction providers. I also have experience with live and canned streaming media technologies as well.
I'm familiar with most operating systems (windows, NT, Unix, Linux, etc.) and web server software.
Our primary focus was on designing websites for small to medium sized companies on a budget. I still believe that it's
not necessary to spend a million dollars to have a successful Internet presence. In spite of what IBM says.
I also acted in a technical
support capacity, and am familiar with most operating system configurations (windows/mac) and
troubleshooting customer problems when related to their internet connectivity and
related applications.
Unfortunately for me, in 2000, Net Connect was hit with, as were many other small ISP's, financial difficulties.
In March of 2001, I was subsequently laid off when the company became unable to maintain it's operations.
I'm always willing to learn new things and will not pass any opportunity to increase
my knowledge in any area of the Internet industry. I can't imagine doing anything else.
Here is a fairly complete list of the companies & individuals I have done work for over the past 15 or so years. Either as an employee of Net Connect
or on my own. They're listed alphabetically for your viewing pleasure.
|
NOTE: The links found in the list below in most cases, do not link to the respective websites, but rather to screen shots of my work for them. I did this
due to the fact that not all of them are still using my
designs or possibly aren't around anymore. Clients come and go, and so do their websites.

Graphic Artist
Cousin Corp. Of America
Enterprise Art
12333 Enterprise Blvd.
Largo, FL 33773
|
Here I worked in the Art Department doing all phases of catalog production. This is where I was lucky
enough to get the "on the job" training that started my career as a pixel pusher. They taught me how
to move the mouse and I took that mouse and ran with it. (I've still got it!) I was lucky enough
to get to work with and learn from some very talented people that were endlessly saintlike in their
patience while I struggled to make sense of it all. Ultimately I did make some sense of it and
I was responsible for
(along with others in the department I must add)
image scanning, editing, negative film output, logo/page design, as well as all other aspects of producing the company's
print advertising.
I left Cousin Corporation to take a job with Net Connect and for the most part left the world of ink
& paper. I guess I prefer a world where everything is 72 dots per inch. So, I'm not going into any more
detail about this job except to say that it was a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

September 17TH 1961 - October 1988
|
To be quite honest, anything I did prior to 1988 doesn't really apply to my current career path.
But in a nutshell, I worked as a line clearance engineer (fancy name for someone that trims trees
away from powerlines) for Davey Tree & Monroe Tree services for over 7 years, which subcontracted to Florida
Power. I started as a groundman and worked my way to Foreman. As a foreman, I ran both a 3/4 man easment (climbing) crew, as
well as ran a 2 man bucket crew as well.
After 7 years, I decided that I needed a career that was less potentially lethal.
I was also a self-employed musician in a local rock band for a couple of years as well. I
gave up the life of a rock star when I came to the realization that food was necessary
to sustain life. That's when I decided to change careers again. Which brings us back to Cousin Corporation.
That pretty much covers all the highlights of my various career choices over the years.
*I can gladly provide personal & business references upon request*
This concludes the resuming.
